Week 8
Finally walking! I still can’t put full weight on it, and I know how to walk with one crutch, but I’m so scared of falling I’m sticking with 2 for now.
My flexion is at 130° which is considered “full” ROM 🙄 I’m not satisfied with this. My other leg goes to 150-155° and I want to sit in my favorite positions again! So despite the fact that they tell me I may never get my full range back, I’m going to push and keep pushing until my heel touches my butt 😂
Its said that you can achieve anything that you set your mind to. I hope to be able to prove that to myself.

I tried my best to figure out how to censor this photo before I posted it so I don’t freak anyone out. To no avail, that really should be an option. 🤷
I am in so much pain it is unbearable 70% of the time. I have had a few good spells of dull pain that made me feel human again, but I don’t see an end to it yet. 😔 I think that my knee looks a hell of a lot better than it feels.
2nd day of PT and they put my VMO and Quad muscles on the TENS unit. It kind of felt good once the initial shock wore off. I achieved a 30° bend which was my goal and next week we are shooting for 45°
This sucks overall 10/10 would not recommend. I’m still not really believing that I need to do this to my left leg as well.
I also did not expect that most of y'all would be quarantined at home with me for the next couple of weeks. Crazy times we are living in.

I dont listen to him but this…this is huge, y'all. This guy is a trendsetter right now for South Americans. Every single family member I have under 40 yrs old is obsessed with Bad Bunny. I have 9 days until my surgery and I’m terrified. I know that I’m gonna be okay. I know I’m going to be in a lot of pain and unable to move around without assistance for the first couple of weeks. I do not know how long it will be until I can drive again. I’m really not looking forward to being helpless. 😔 I’m going to have to work really hard to regain my strength and learn to walk again, one leg at a time. Baby steps.
I decided to get a picture of my knees pre-op so that I can track my progress, and maybe a little bit because I’m going to miss my raggedy deformed knees a little bit. 😆 The nature of my operation is going to change the way they look, and that sucks a little bit. I think being able to shower and walk down stairs without fear will be a really good trade-off, but just having the surgery isn’t going to just erase my fears. Here’s to turning points, crossroads, and milestones alike. We’ve all got em.
